Premier of Issue #5 |

The El Paso Museum of History hosted a premier signing for issue #5 of Hell Paso: The Dallas Stoudenmire Story on April 30th ,2011. Creator Jimmy Portillo and artist Chris Shehan were on hand to sign comic books and do sketches. There was a good turn out as 55 or more people dropped by for autographs and discuss the comic book series.
Hell Paso: The Dallas Stoudenmire Story is a six issue miniseries centered around El Paso’s two-gunned Marshal and his taming of the Pass of the North. Mr. Portillo will be the first to admit it is a fictionalized account of the tale, yet it is a good story, and the graphics and colors are fantastic. It did make me take a step back and reexamine my point of view of the people involved in this chapter of El Paso history. Jimmy Portillo and his crew have done a darned good job so far, and I am eagerly waiting for the final issue of this series. |
