Whenever someone mentions the word gunfight, the first image to pop into one’s mind is of Marshal Matt Dillon walking down the bad guy on the streets of Dodge City. Nothing could have been further from the truth. The reality was much grimmer. El Paso’s gunfight history spanned over six decades. In those sixty some years, there are stories of betrayal, feuds, fights , and outright murder. These stories gave El Paso her a reputation as the “Gunfight Capital of the World.” |
